URI TOPS IN FRIENDLY TURBO SPLIT!

Uri Hartuv finished in first as the R600 Turbo #4 ended in a 5-way split in Maitland on Thursday night.

Nothing beats live poker! And this was evident in another great chapter of Thursday night poker at Concept as 41 players entered the ring.

At the end of the grind, 5 remained and agreed on a fair split on the proceeds.

Uri Hartuv and Robin Kayalsum earned R5000 apiece with the two biggest stacks.

Uri took the gold with the most chips, building up nicely as he was one of the shorter stacks a few rounds before final table. This form bodes well ahead of his trip to the Montecasino Main Event with Team Cape Town next weekend.

I’m surprised it’s not raining today as Robin agreed to a deal in second place. A nice result following his tournament win during the warm-up fixtures.

Cas du Toit and Ronald Napala received R4500 in third and fourth place respectively, while Jesse Cupido took home R4000 with the shorter stack in 5th place.

Tariro Vanderlinden had a solid run during her first game at Concept in a long time. She was unlucky in 6th place, getting it in good with AQ versus Robin’s AJ. But Robin’s J♠️ hit a four-card flush on the River – another Robbie Run good moment for the ages.

After his stone cold bubble finish last week, Alan Shepherd’s bubble curse continued as he dropped out in 7th place. A R1000 consolation prize was negotiated, which would’ve soften the blow.

Alan was looking good during the business end of the tournament, boasting a massive stack after catching Cliton Taliwanth’s AK with Aces, but he just lost big hands when it mattered most. He was eventually out with J8 ♣️ suited against Uri’s J10, which held up on a dry board.

Lerenzo Greeff and Brian Sampson missed out on the money spots in 8th and 9th respectively, but earn extra Player of the Year points for making final table.

Lerenzo was knocked out in a 3-way pot with Ronald and Cas, Ron holding up with pocket Kings.

Brian unfortunately ran his pocket 7s into Cas’s pocket Kings.

WELL DONE WINNERS!

We now set our sights on the Concept Grand Slam on Sunday at 2PM.

Tournament details and registration to be announced shortly.
