URI SHOOTS THE LIGHTS OUT AT R600 TURBO!

Uri Hartuv was last man standing in a tough field at the R600 Turbo at Concept on Thursday night.

We had 12 players jumping on board at the 11th hour, which built up a big field for the popular midweek live tournament and created a prize pool of R31 000!

Uri took the biggest piece of the pie as he accepted a depreciated R8000 in first place as the overwhelming chip leader.

The charismatic poker player managed to take down big pots en route to the tournament win, fresh off his return from the MonsterJam Poker Series at Boardwalk in Gqeberha, where he caught plenty of attention on the feature table. And he stole the spotlight on Thursday at Concept, even though load shedding hit at midnight! Luckily our back-up lights made sure he could still enjoy that winning glow. 😅

Riyadh Slamang made it two live cashes in a row in second place, while Ryan Rudolph grinded really well to finish in 3rd place. Both players were happy to take home R6000 respectively in the negotiation.

Marco Botha lost major flips on final table to finish in 4th place, but the R4000 prize money will soften the blow. He suffered a cooler in blind versus blind action against Uri – Marco flopped two pair with 109 on a K109 flop, but Uri tabled a higher two pair with K9 and held up.

Clint Solomons carried his online form into the live tournament, managing a 5th place finish on the night. With the short stack, he was all in with 56 against Uri’s A9.

An action flop landed as the board read 943 – top pair for Uri, and an up-and-down straight draw for Clint. A 5 on the Turn brought more outs for the latter, but the River paired the board with another 4 to seal the elimination.

Stephen Courtney, who made the money in multiple events at the recent MonsterJam series, finished in 6th place. He had a terrible run-out after flopping a set of 4s – the rest of the board brought all hearts ❤️ which saw Uri take down the pot with a 10-high flush.

Bubble prizes were created for 7th and 8th places, which were claimed by Ronica Chetty and Jeremy Jodamus respectively.

Mrs Chetty got unlucky with Aces as she got cracked by Clint’s J9, which hit a 4-card straight.

Jema shook off the rust after a long hiatus to make final table. He flopped top pair in the blinds with 87 on a 736 board, but was out-kicked by Stephen, who tabled K7.

*WELL DONE WINNERS!*

Due to the demand, we will run a R800 Grind live event on Sunday for cash prizes.

The economical tournament created an exciting prize pool last week, so we will repeat the event this weekend.
