With representatives from Lions Head Poker Club, Staq Poker Club and Concept Social Poker Club, the entire Team Cape Town enjoyed a strong start to the Monte Million on Day 1 B.
All 22 players survived Day 1 B, which had over 130 unique entries, and over 150 rebuys.
Final numbers are yet to be confirmed, but it’s estimated over R1 million was generated for the prize pool on the Friday alone.
Bentley Louw was the standout performer on the day as he ended with 856 000 – the second biggest chip stack of Day 2.
Dimitri Stephanis, William Barnard and Cas du Toit also boast more than 500k in chips.
It was great coming together at the end of the day, telling all the different poker hand stories to one another… analysing each play. From massive pots to heartbreaking bad beats, it was definitely an entertaining day of poker.
Gabriel Verhoef is the last Cape Town representative to jump in as he enters Day 1 C, which is a 15min Turbo Structure.
Day 2 starts at 3PM, with players from all 3 x Day 1s joining the field.
GOOD LUCK!
Our thoughts are with Francis and Ronica Chetty, who had to withdraw at the last minute due to illness. On behalf of the Cape Town poker fraternity, we wish Francis a speedy recovery.
