STEPHEN POWERS HIS WAY TO VICTORY!

Stephen Courtney wins the R600 Turbo

Stephen Courtney ran hot on final table to pick up the win in the R600 Turbo at Concept on Thursday night.

Stephen recorded 6 of the 7 eliminations on final table to build a massive chip stack, and carry this ascendancy to first place.

He was last man standing in a field of 32 players, which created a prize pool of R21200!

The tournament-defining hand saw Stephen snap call Chris Gin’s all-in shove with Jacks. Chris tabled A10, but couldn’t find the Ace to fall in second place.

Roger Williams enjoyed a dream week in Concept live and online tournaments. He cashed R4032 in first place via the R200 Grind on PokerBros (a 20x return on his buy-in), and went on to finish in 3rd place at his first live appearance of the year. He unfortunately ran into Steve, who spiked an Ace with AJ for the knockout.

Shameegh Suarez was coolered in 4th place as he held the nut flush with AQ ♥️ suited. But he got Turned when Stephen hit a full house with K9 on a K10K98 board.

Allan Ranzani fell in 6th place with A10 versus Steve’s AK, the King fell on the river to end the former’s tournament run.

A bubble prize was created for 6th place, which was claimed by Bentley Louw. Bentley was all in with 8s, and was looking good against Stephen’s AK until a King fell on the River.

Chris Hadzi (7th) and Tony Smith (8th) missed out on the money, but earn Player of the Year points for making final table.

WELL DONE WINNERS!

We now look forward to the Melkbos Grand on Sunday!
