Shahied Slamang (far right) played his way to the top prize in the R600 Turbo on Thursday night.
Shahied arrived to final table with the biggest individual chip stack in recent memory. He ran hot all night and caught plenty of big pots en route to the final 8.
As blinds reached higher levels, he was happy to share the spoils with the Top 4, taking home R5000 cash, while Clinton Reddy, Brian Sampson and Riyadh Slamang accepted R4000 for 2nd to 4th place respectively.
It was another nice catch for Riyadh, who won R8000 for 4th place in last Sunday’s Concept Grand Slam.
Thomas Hendricks made a surprise appearance and managed to finish in 5th. He shipped with the short stack with Q4, but ran into Brian, who tabled Kings and held up.
Bubble prizes were created for 6th and 7th places, which were collected by Preston Jonas and Cas du Toit.
Mercia Sampson just missed out on the money in 8th place, but did enough to earn some extra Player of the Year points by making final table.
We will be posting the Player of the Year ratings very soon. The prize pool for this campaign currently sits on R4800! Who will be taking the big prize at the end of the season?
WELL DONE WINNERS!
We now look forward to the Montecasino Satellite on Sunday!
