ROBBIE RUNS GOOD TO R600 TURBO WIN

Robin Kayalsum wins the R600 Turbo at Concept

Robin Kayalsum played his way to first place in the R600 Turbo at Concept on Thursday night.

He took the big prize in a three-way split, which saw him go home with R8000 as the notable chip leader.

This was well deserved after turning the short stack into big stack thanks to his big pairs – first pocket Jacks and then pocket Queens for two important double-ups. With the chip lead, he scored big knockouts to set up the tournament victory.

Mercia Sampson and Magnus Koekemoer agreed R5500 in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Mercia enjoyed a solid grind all the way to a Top 3 finish, while Magnus enjoyed an impressive turnaround after avoiding elimination on a few occasions to end up in the money.

Nigel Heldsinger finished in 4th place as he ran into Robin’s pocket Aces. He was all in with KQ and flopped the King, but the bigger pair held up.

Youshan Valloo was enjoying a dream debut at Concept as he scored some big pots to be the overwhelming chip leader just before final table.

But he ran out of steam late in the game, and eventually lost out with A7 against Robin’s nut flush with K8 ♥️ suited on an Ace-high board.

Riyadh Slamang couldn’t keep up with the blinds as he got caught out with the small stack in 6th place. He was all in with Q5 and managed to hit two pair, but Mercia had the bigger two pair with AQ to take down the pot.

With no deals made, Jamiel Ryklief and Stephen Courtney just missed out on the cash prizes, but they earn Player of the Year points for making final table.

All in all, we had 41 players enter the tournament, creating a nice prize pool of R27200!
