ROBBIE RUNS GOOD… AGAIN!

Robin Kayalsum secured back-to-back top finishes at the R600 Turbo #5 at Concept on Thursday night.

After his second-place finish last week, Robin played his way to first place in a tough field of 54 players.

The tournament ended in a split, with Robin taking home R9000 for first place as the overwhelming chip leader.

Ryan Rudolph and Kyle Steenkamp completed the podium in second and third place respectively, agreeing to take home R6500 apiece.

Ryan was finally able to break his bubble curse to reach the final 3, while Kyle recorded his deepest run in his third appearance at Concept.

Gareth Duncan finished in fourth place after suffering a bad beat. Robin shoved light with 64 in the small blind, and Gareth made a tough call with QJ in the big blind. But in typical Robbie run-good fashion, the 4 flopped on a dry board to seal the knockout.

Cameron Ohlson was eliminated in 5th place as he shoved on the button with J10. He was called off by Robin with KJ in the small blind, which held up with the better kicker.

Herman Nelissen enjoyed a solid grind to final table, but he lost his chips in a race with AK against Ryan’s pocket Queens. Unfortunately, Herman couldn’t connect his Big Slick on a J-high board as he finished in 6th place.

Bradley Vraagom showed a mixed bag of tricks to make the Top 7, but his run came to an end when he shoved A8 into a three-way pot with Ryan (AK) and Robin (6s). He was looking good on the Turn on a J899 board, but the Ace fell on the River to counterfeit his bottom two-pair and gift Ryan Aces and 9s with a bigger kicker.

Roger Williams had a valiant run to his second final table of the year. But his journey ended in 8th place when he lost a race with AJ versus Ryan’s pocket Queens. The Queen landed on first street for top set with no possible redraws, which saw Roger dead on the flop.

A bubble prize was negotiated for 9th place, but this was rejected by one player on final table. This saw Tariro fall short of the money when she ran into Cameron’s Aces.

Although no cash prize, Tariro still earns extra Player of the Year points for making final table.
