Nigel Heldsinger won the top prize in the R600 Turbo as he continued his good poker form on Thursday night.
Despite the Cape Town winter and load shedding, it was a great night of poker as 46 players entered the tournament at Concept Social Poker Club.
This saw prize pool of R30 000 up for grabs, with R10 000 set for first prize! Amazing value!
With blinds peaking, the final 5 decided on a deal.
Nigel has run really in live games in recent months, cashing over R33 000 since late April.
And this week, he ran hot when it mattered most – hitting 3 outers and flopping the goods as he scored all the final table eliminations en route to the tournament win. As the notable chip leader, he was happy to take home R7000 for first place on this occasion.
The Greek pro Dim Stephanis had a stuttering start to his tournament, losing two lives before the break, but he grinded well during the business-end and accepted R5000 for second place.
Newcomer Johan Rossel ran hot to earn a decent cash on his first run in Maitland. He, along with Cameron Ohlson and Danie Hougaard, we’re happy with R4700 apiece as the shorter stacks.
Kyle Schreuder played a solid game but had bad fortune on the final table. He got it in good with AK against Nigel’s AQ, but the Queen flopped to see him fall out in 6th place.
Two R1000 bubble prizes were created for 7th and 8th place respectively.
Clinton Reddybwas out in 7th as he got a bad beat on the River. He was all in with AQ, and got called off by Nigel with A10. Queen high was good all the way until a 10 fell on 5th street.
Niven Govender was flushed out in 8th place as Nigel flopped the nuts with A9 ♦️ suited.
WELL DONE WINNERS!
We now look forward to the R500 Satellite for the Montecasino Poker Series on Sunday.
