Ronica Chetty and Stephen Courtney enjoyed decent cash wins in the R600 Turbo at Concept Social Club on Thursday night.
With similar stacks, both players were happy to split the Top 2 prize money equally, which saw them earn R7500 respectively. A nice return for a successful night of grinding!
Mrs Chetty had slightly more chips, so she is recognised as the overall winner for the Player of the Year league points.
Ulric Sellar enjoyed a miracle run to 3rd place and a R4000 cash as he punched with the short stack for most of the night. He had bad timing on the button, shoving 107 into Mrs Chetty’s pocket Kings in the big blind.
Clint Solomons finished in 4th spot, mainly thanks to his massive pot win with 87 against Mrs Chetty’s Aces (hit two pair on the Turn). He couldn’t crack Aces twice, though, as he shoved A10 into Stephen’s bullets for cooler blind-on-blind action.
Cameron Ohlson was running hot all night, but he couldn’t make it count on the final table. He had to settle for 5th place as he was forced all in on the big blind with K3, which fell against Mrs Chetty’s KJ.
Suvir Doodnath was the unfortunate bubble boy as he fell short of the money in 6th place. His A10 was ahead in the all in chase preflop against Ulric’s 95, but the latter hand found two pair to score the knockout.
Cliton Taliwanth was grinding well on Table 1 all night, but he fell out in 7th spot. He shoved with A8 ♠️ suited, which were beaten by Mrs Chetty’s pocket Jacks.
Rachart Job finished in 8th place when he was forced all in on the big blind with K2, which lost out to Stephen’s 108 that hit two pair on the Flop.
All in all, we had 37 players enter the tourney, creating a *prize pool of R23500!* (after 14.5% membership fees for running expenses)
