LUCRATIVE TOP 3 SPLIT IN CONCEPT GRAND SLAM!

Nigel Heldsinger, Dim Stephanis and Reza Slamang at Concept Social Poker Club

Dim Stephanis, Nigel Heldsinger and Reza Slamang agreed to split R30 000 equally in the Concept Grand Slam on Sunday.

With blinds at 100 000-200 000-50 000, the Top 3 decided to end the game in a split as they were shoving with even stacks.

The deal saw each player walk away with a handsome R10 000 cash prize, with Dim Stephanis recognised as first place with the biggest chip stack.

Nigel Heldsinger continued his good poker form with another decent cash in second place.

Nigel’s outstanding play was bluffing Dim with 5s on an Ace high flop. Dim flat called a raise preflop with Jacks in the big blind to set a trap, but that plan backfired when Nigel bet aggressively on the Ace.

Reza Slamang, who’s been out of action in recent months, made a profitable return to Concept in third place. An impressive showing in his first live game in a long time.

The apple didn’t fall far from the tree as Riyadh Slamang ended in 4th place. He shoved with A8 ♥️ suited on the button, but ran into Dimitri with Kings, which held up. Riyadh earned R8000, which was agreed in the earlier negotiation.

Bertus Meyer had a rollercoaster ride on final table, fighting hard with the short stack and flirting with the chip lead. But one swing too many saw him lose most of his chips with A2 against Reza’s A8, which hit an 8.

Bertus’ remaining chips were lost with A2 against Riyadh’s K7, which spiked a King on the Turn.

Sean Botes made another Concept Grand Slam final table (having won the May edition), but was caught with his hand in the cookie jar, which cost him a deep run on this occasion.

He first shoved from small blind to apply the pressure on Bertus, who made a brave call with K3. Sean tabled a 56, which flopped an up-and-down straight draw, but the Turn and River bricked, handing Bertus a big pot.

Sean shoved the rest of his chips with J7 on the button, and Dim called from the big blind with 53, which connected with a 5 on the River to send the former out in 6th place.

A bubble prize was arranged for 7th and 8th place, which was collected by Herman Nelissen and Uri Hartuv respectively.

WELL DONE WINNERS!
