Kyle Steenkamp and Ryan Rudolph secured back-to-back top cashes at the R600 Tubro #6 at Concept Social Poker Club on Thursday night.
The duo impressed with a Top 3 finish at R600 Turbo #5 last week. And they followed that up with a Top 2 finish last night.
In a very competitive field of 56 players, this was no easy feat.
Both players showed great timing and patience to play their way to the top prizes, and with even stacks at heads-up, they decided on an equal split on the remaining prize money – taking R8000 home apiece.
Kyle (in black) was recognised in first with the bigger stack. Ryan (in blue) finishes in second.
Our Australian friend Royce Butler (in white) flew the Ozzie flag with a third place finish in his second appearance at Concept, cashing R5000 for bronze.
Dim Stephanis put in a solid grind and managed to finish in 4th place. He shoved with A7 but was unlucky to run into Royce, who tabled AJ and held up.
Evan Wessels recorded his best finish at Concept in 5th place. He was all in with the short stack holding K10, and called off by Kyle with AQ. The latter flopped the Ace to score the knockout.
Ian Timoney – who was in top form with his table rambles all evening 😅 – finished in 6th place. He was racing with AQ against Ryan’s pocket Kings, and the big pair held up after an action flop of AKJ.
Warren Galant took a break from the chessboard to play some poker, and managed to finish in 7th place. He made a move with KJ and was called by Dim with AQ, which took the pot with Ace high on a dry board.
Cas du Toit ended in 8th place as he shoved with an Ace rag (A6), running into Ryan’s pocket 6s. The pair stood strong on a 9-high board.
A bubble prize of R1000 was created for 9th place, which was collected by Ronald. He was all in with pocket 7s and got stumped by Ian with J10, which hit trip 10s.
