Gareth Duncan picked up first place at the eventful Concept Midweek Game #8 on Thursday night.
Gareth entered final table with the big stack, thanks to a big pot won with Aces in a three-way all pot with Gerhard Beukes (AK) and Shane Pillay (AK).
He played the big stack with good effect, eventually winning the tourney with 64 ♦️suited against Bentley Louw’s K10 – a risky call that paid off.
Gareth cashed R4500 on the night (after creating a bubble prize), while Bentley earned R3000 for second place.
Jesse Cupido finished in third place, his A6 couldn’t strike an Ace against Gareth’s 9s.
Brian Sampson had a decent tourney as he finished in 4th, his Q10 was outkicked by Bentley’s AQ.
Herman Nelissen placed a respectable 5th place as he crashed out against Gareth’s A5.
Uri Hartuv has been in hot form in the past month as he made another Concept final table. Unfortunately, he had to settle for 6th place on this occasion as his A10 lost out against Bentley’s KQ.
Cameron Ohlson, Cern Williams and Roland Willenberg missed out on the money, but earn valuable log points for the Top 9 finish.
Patrick Perez earned royalty points for his quads on the night.
It was a special moment for Concept and the Cape Town poker community as we honoured the late Pine Pienaar. The Concept regular passed away last week, and we managed to raise R2500 on the night towards his funeral on Friday.
WELL DONE TO ALL PLAYERS!
