ALAIN TAKES DOWN 2019 FINAL MIDWEEK GAME

Alain Govender ended up on top at the final Concept Midweek Game of the season at Goodwood Cricket Club last Wednesday night.

At Midweek Game #36, Alain was very active on final table, and along with Robin Kayalsum – they executed all of the eliminations on the night.

Alain the held his own against Robbie to win his second tourney of the year.

The final table got off to a cracking start, and Byron Beukes was the first elimination. He went all in with AK and in a flip against Robin, who tabled Jacks. Robbie hit trips to send Brian home in 9th place.

Graeme Friester was next to hit the rail in 8th place as he committed the last of his chips with 69 ♣️ suited. He got called by Alain, who won the pot after hitting two pair with Q10.

Preston Jonas fell off in 7th place after shipping with K10. Again, Alain made the call, this time holding pocket 8s, which held up on a dry board.

Ashraf Haribhai finished in 6th place after he shopped with A8. Robin called him with QJ, which spiked the Jack to score the knockout.

Shane Davids was out in 5th place when he was forced all in on the big blind with A3. Alain made the call from the small blind with 104, and hit bottom pair of 4s to win the pot.

Blamo Brooks suffered a bad beat to finish in 4th place. Alain shipped with A7, and was called by Blamo who tabled AJ. Despite being dominated, Alain took down the chips after flopping two pair.

Jason Fried exited in 3rd place when he shoved with A5 ♦️ suited. Robbie woke up with Jacks in the blinds and made the call. The pocket pair held up on a dry board.

Alain and Robbie went heads up, and after the chip lead swung several times, Alain eventually got the better of his opponent. The decisive hand saw Alain take down the tourney with KJ, hitting the nut straight.
