Chris Dean delivered the goods on the final table to take down Concept Midweek Game #12 at Goodwood Cricket Club on Thursday night.
Á la Hitman, Chris played assassin as he did most of the elimination damage among the final 9. This set the foundation for his second tournament win of the season, which sees him as the notable mover on the overall log.
Lou’en Pillay was our first in 9th as he went all in with K9. He ran into Carmen September’s pocket Qs, which held up.
Eddie Barlow followed him to the rail in 8th place as his shoved with QJ as the short stack. He got called by Chris with A10, and the better hand did the job.
Kershnee Julie finished in 7th as she moved in with A10. Brian Hendricks called with AJ, hitting a higher two pair to take down the pot.
Dirk Ackerman hit two pair with 107 ♦️ and moved all in on an all-♣️ flop. He got called by Chris, who hit a queen high flush on the turn. Dirk was knocked out in 6th.
When Shane Solomons moves in with A4, he was likely to chop the pot when Chris called with A2. But the latter couldn’t miss on the night, grabbing a full house on a JJ225 board. Shane was out in 5th.
Franklin Jodamus was next to hit the rail as he moved all in with A10. He got called by Brian’s pocket 8s, which managed to run a straight. Franky was out in 4th.
Carmen was knocked out by Brian in third, which gave the latter a notable chip lead going into heads-up.
However, Chris managed to claw his way back into the match, and took top spot down – KJ being the decisive hand.
In other news, our charity run managed to collect R1500 towards Tayla September’s WP U16 fundraiser. This goes along way to ensure she will be ready for the provincial tournament in June! Thank you for all the support.
