EDDIE SCORES TOP PRIZE IN R800 GRIND!

Edwin Barlow was the big winner in the R800 Grind at the CT Poker Room on Sunday evening.

Edwin scooped R10500 for first as the Top 3 decided on an ICM split to share the spoils.

This saw 2022 Player of the Year Gareth Duncan cash R10000 for second place, while Cliton Taliwanth recorded back-to-back final tables to finish 3rd and claim R9000.

Nick Gara continued his good form at Concept events by finishing in 4th place. He was all in with the short stack holding J7 ♦️ suited, and Cliton completed the call in the big blind with 65. The flop ran 654, to give Cliton two-pair. Nick had an up-and-down straight draw, but the Turn and River bricked to seal the elimination.

Allan Ranzani was knocked in 5th place after he shoved with KJ in the small blind. Cliton made the call with A6 in the big blind, and flopped the boat on a A66 board.

Evan Wessels made another live final table and finished in 6th place on this occasion. He got unlucky when shoving his short stack with pocket 10s after Gareth completed the call in the big blind with 87. The board tan 9756K to give the latter the straight.

A bubble prize of R1500 was agreed, which was collected by Cas du Toit. He got knocked out when Edwin spiked an Ace on the flop with AJ.

Uri Hartuv and Sachin Naidoo missed out on the cash prizes, but earn extra Player of the Year points for making final table.
