IMMIE WINS BIG IN FRIENDLY SPLIT

Friendly split at Concept Social Poker Club

Imran Khan finished in first place as the R600 Turbo ended in a Top 6 split on Thursday night.

It was another top night of live poker at Concept Social Poker Club as 59 players showed up for the popular event, creating an impressive prize pool of R37400! R10 000 was originally set for first place!

The lucrative pot saw the Top 6 agree to split the winnings.

This saw Imran negotiate R9000 for gold with the biggest stack, while Concept debutant Julian Bowey enjoyed a good run to second place for R8000.

Nigel Heldsinger, Tony Smith, Daylon Morgan and Ryan Rudolph finished in 3rd-6th respectively as they agreed to take home R4000 each.

Reza Slamang suffered a bad beat to finish in 7th place. He lost most of his chips with A6 against Tony’s A2. Tony hit trip 2s to take down the hand, before Nigel collected the remaining scraps with A10 soon thereafter, flopping the Ace.

Birthday boy on the night Gareth Duncan somehow finished in 8th place, despite consuming one too many celebratory shots. But his joy ride came to an end when he ran his pocket 9s into Imran’s pocket Jacks, which held up.

WELL DONE WINNERS!

It was another top night of poker at Concept… and although I don’t remember much of the latter parts of the tournament (I don’t even remember that photo), I do remember an amazing environment, great camaraderie and spirit among the players, and joyous occasion for everyone involved.

Let’s take this momentum into the Super Satellite at GrandWest next Sunday, and flood the floor with Concept players! And eventual Concept winners!

I would love to see all of our members have a chance to experience the big stage at the GrandWest Series from 23 Nov-4 Dec.

It’s Cape Town poker’s time to shine!
