The Cape Town poker scene came out in great support for good causes at Pollsmoor Poker Club on Sunday.
A total of 72 players pitched up for the annual Pollsmoor fundraising game, which also honoured Vickey Moodley.
A lucky dip charity run was held for the Moodley family, which raised R7000 in total (including donations from players).
We also had some words about Vickey before the game, which was received with applause by all in attendance.
In terms of the poker, a R64 000 pot was created, which included prizes for the Top 8. A handsome R16 000 was set for first prize!
Keegan Naidoo and Strini Naidoo were the big winners, taking home R11000 apiece in a four-way split.
Mercia Sampson and Edwin Barlow accepted R9000 each as the shorter stacks. Mercia said she could feel Vickey’s spirit as she enjoyed a winning run to the top.
A small surplus was tipped to the dealers.
Two bubble prizes were also created, which saw the Top 10 in the money.
WELL DONE WINNERS!
A big thank you to Danie Hougaard and his team for organising a well-planned event.
And a special thanks to everyone who came out to support.
With Vickey’s memorial moved to Tuesday evening, Concept Social Poker Club will host a memorial game for our fallen chairman on Thursday night.
Stay tuned for updates.
