Vickey Moodley, Imraan Khan and Francis Chetty were the big winners in the R500 Monte Satellite on Sunday.
A deal was agreed among the Top 5.
The above-mentioned trio took R8000 apiece as they sat with the bigger chip stacks (ranging from 2mil to 1.8mil apiece).
Gareth Duncan agreed to take home R7000, while Tony Smith accepted R6000 as the short stack.
This was a great result for Imraan and Tony, who both won R7000 vouchers in the first satellite, and build on to their bankroll for upcoming Team Cape Town tour.
Shane Pillay was the unfortunate bubble boy in 6th place. He voted against a deal among the Top 6 as he had his eyes on the full package.
He put it all on the line with pocket 4s, and found himself racing against Immie’s AQ ♥️ suited. The flop came all hearts to end Shane’s tourney.
Reza Slamang enjoyed a deep run, but lost steam in the latter stages to fall short in 7th.
Reza shoved the short stack with 8s, and found himself racing over cards from two callers. Imraan connected his King on the flop to score the knockout.
Marco Botha did well to make final table, but struggled to build momentum. He was eventually forced all in with 94 among the blinds. He connected on a K9863 board for a major pot, which had 3 other players involved. But Gareth took it down with Aces.
Overall, it was a very competitive game of poker, with quality play all around. 27 players entered the tournament, creating a prize pool of R37000 (after 11% deductions for running expenses).
WELL DONE WINNERS!
