Aladdin De Beer was the big winner as the R800 Turbo ended in a six-way ICM split on Thursday night.
With R40 000 in the prize pool and blinds peaking, the players decided to share the spoils according to stack sizes.
It wasn’t an easy negotiation but a deal was eventually reached around the final table.
Sporting his Concept branded gear (which will go on sale very soon), Aladdin had the notable big stack, and surrendered the chance of a massive first prize to settle for R7000 guaranteed.
Imraan Khan, Dylan Hughes and Misa Marinus agreed to R6000 for second to third place respectively, while Riyadh Slamang and Shane Pillay finished in 5th (R5500) and 6th place (R5000).
Before the split, bubble prizes of R1500 were created 7th to 9th places. And Aladdin was on hand to do the early damage.
He scored a double knockout with AJ against Robin Laguma (KQ) and Ronica Chetty (QQ).
The King flopped to shoot Robin ahead, before a Jack peeled on the Turn. An Ace on the river sealed a big pot for Aladdin.
Vickey Moodley suffered a bad beat in 9th as his Aces were cracked by Aladdin’s pocket 8s, which spiked an 8 on the River.
WELL DONE WINNERS!
