Keegan Florence, Magnus Koekemoer and Cas du Toit were the big winners in the R600 Turbo on Thursday night.
After a difficult grind at the latter stages of the tournament, which saw the chip lead exchange hands several times, the players decided on an equal split to end the tournament.
All 3 players agreed to take home R6000 apiece.
Keegan (center) was recognised in first with the bigger chip stack. It’s his first big tournament win at Concept – a great result for him.
Both Magnus (left) and Cas (right) have enjoyed success in the R600 Turbo in September, and were able to get their October off to a positive start as they finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Ryan Johnson had 9 lives on final table as he won several races, even with the worse hand on the odd occasion. This saw him survive the short stack and play his way back into contention.
He eventually lost a flip with A9 ♠️ suited against Keegan’s pocket 2s. It was an action flop as it brought a set of 2s and a ♠️ flush draw. But the Turn and River bricked to see Ryan finish in 4th place.
Chris Gin was caught in trap to finish in 5th place. Chris raised from late position, and was called by Magnus and Cas among the blinds. Both players checked an A107 flop to the raiser, which saw received a C-Bet. Magnus shoved all in, which received a snap call by Chris with A5 ♦️ suited. Magnus tabled Aces for a big pot win, before Chris was knocked out a few hands later.
Mercia Sampson was unlucky to fall short in 6th place. She lost an important race with AJ against Ryan’s Q9, which flopped a Queen. She then lost the last of her chips with pocket 10s against Cas, who spiked an Ace with A3.
Two bubble prizes were created in 7th and 8th place, which were collected by Stephen Courtney and Strini Govender respectively.
Both bubble players were knocked out in the same hand thanks to Keegan’s pocket Queens, which held up against Strini’s K10 and Stephen’s AJ.
WELL DONE WINNERS!
